 See on website http://www.magic-squares.net/Downloads/ArnouxCube.doc that the first Nasik (but not symmetric) magic 17x17x17 cube has been constructed by Gabriel Arnoux in 1887!!! Probably he used the same method as I did, but with alternate shifts.
